May Snow Storm in Denver

One week after returning from Mexico it snowed … again … and it is May. The upside of this May snow storm is it inspired me to make some arty photos.

Late spring snow storms make everything green and vibrant, and at least this storm didn’t stick around long enough to mess up a wedding day. I think one of the most important things about the weather in regard to weddings is to keep your sense of humor and be flexible in your visions. This is especially true in Denver where the weather can be unpredictable. You cannot change the weather and will only make yourself crazy with worry.

First Dance Songs at Weddings – “At Last”

The right music will set the right mood at your wedding, and that mood is sure to show up in your wedding photos. We’ve covered classic crooner Frank Sinatra, contemporary crooner Michael Bublé, and the sunny new star Colbie Caillat as possibilities for your first dance possibilities, but now we turn to this particular wedding standard.

This song has been covered by everyone from Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, and B. B. King to Diana Krall, Christina Aguilera, and Beyonce Knowles. However, the version that everyone probably knows best is the one by Etta James released back in 1961. Its wonderful, dreamy strings are accompanied by poetic lyrics about finding your true love. It’s really no wonder that so many people have shared their first dance as a married couple to this particular tune.
