Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colorado

Another beautiful wedding venue is Hudson Gardens located on Sante Fe Blvd. in Littleton, just ten minutes outside Denver. This wedding site features 30 acres of gardens and provides amazing photography opportunities. Take a walk down the winding path through the garden and you’ll be surrounded by a vibrant array of flowers and foliage at every turn.

The venue offers both indoor and outdoor areas for the ceremony and reception, each with breathtaking views. In Monet’s Place, the water garden complete with waterlilies and koi fish provides an intimate setting. The Rose Garden is also a favorite with its large oval fountain surrounded by fragrant rosebeds. Indoors, the historic inn has vaulted ceilings, wood floors, two fireplaces, and lighting to provide the perfect ambiance.

Della Terra Mountain Chateau

Couples often ask us about our favorite venues. There are several venues in the Denver area that we’ve enjoyed. One is Della Terra Mountain Chateau, a stunning hillside event center in Estes National Park near the north entrance of Rocky Mountain Park. The Chateau is just a little over an hour drive from Denver and Fort Collins and offers majestic views that are a perfect backdrop for wedding photographs.

This secluded venue is nestled in the cliffs, providing an intimate and romantic setting. Wedding ceremonies can be held either outdoors at The Devotion Place, or indoors at The Celebration Place, which also serves as a beautiful reception area. The Chateau also features an outdoor patio, a gathering place where appetizers are served, a full bar, and a gourmet kitchen.

Della Terra offers several amenities for guests including a styling salon, spa, theatre and library. Luxury suites also come complete with fireplaces, sitting nooks with spectacular views, and private balconies with hot tubs.

Fitting In Isn’t Hard To Do

We are in full swing this month booking weddings in the Denver and Fort Collins areas for next summer. Choosing a wedding photographer is an important decision and we are always happy to answer questions to aid couples in that process. We were asked this weekend about how we dress for weddings and were surprised to hear that, apparently, some wedding photographers wear jeans and t-shirts.  We respect that this is a very special day for the couple and their families, and as such we wear formal attire. I usually wear a black dress or dress slacks with a dark colored blouse. Bill wears dress slacks and a collared shirt with a tie.

Your vendors, especially photographers, become default guests at your wedding. Not only should your wedding photographer dress nicely and blend in, but it’s also important that he or she be comfortable mingling with others. At every wedding we shoot, at least one guest will approach me and ask about our cameras and lenses. Photography is a very popular hobby and people are often interested in the equipment we use and our techniques. Your wedding photographer should be able to converse comfortably with your family and friends and still be able to capture all the unique and memorable moments of your wedding day.

Welcome to November!

Bill and I are enjoying the end of our busiest wedding season ever here in Denver. However, our wedding photography responsibilities are far from over. We are now in full swing preparing, ordering, and delivering final wedding albums to our Northern Colorado couples. This is exciting, but it’s also a big task. We need to adjust and refine the layouts of our book designs to meet the unique needs of each client. Bill then thoroughly reviews each photo and removes every blemish, reflection, and stray hair. Once we are completely satisfied down to the very last detail, we send the design to our book printer. For the next 30 days, we wait eagerly along with our clients for the final product to arrive.

Curiously, many of our couples take several months to choose a layout and complete this process. It sometimes seems that we are more eager to create the books than they are! However, it’s well worth the wait once each wedding photograph has been chosen and perfectly placed in the album. The final books are the real heirloom for your family and the best presentation for our art.

Wedding Photos and Turnaround Time

Hi there, everyone. It’s Bill here.

One of the concerns a lot of our clients have is about turnaround times. Sherri and I have heard stories where couples have waited three or four months after their wedding just to see the proofs of their wedding photos. We’ve even heard from a couple that they waited six whole months to get their wedding photo album.

There’s really no excuse for anything to take that long.

Sherri and I are really on top of turnaround times where wedding slideshows, proofs, and wedding albums are concerned. If you want to look at a wedding slideshow, we will have the slideshow online the day after your wedding reception. We only need two weeks tops to get a couple their proofs. The timing works out great since newlyweds are usually coming back from their honeymoon at that time. As for the customized wedding book (which we have crafted all the way in Italy), couples will have those within a month of layout approval.

You shouldn’t have to wait so long for your wedding photos, and Sherri and I understand that. Since we’re full-time photographers, we are always working to make sure you are happy. We’re prompt because we’re technically proficient and are well-versed with the latest imaging software.

It’s going to be a busy month, but we’ll keep checking in with more wedding advice and more thoughts about wedding photography.
