All Star Cheer and Dance National Competition
Last week Bill and I went to Dallas, Texas where everything is large. We covered the All Star Cheer and Dance National Competition put on by one of our commercial clients, Varsity.com.
Let me set the scene. Imagine 14,000 competitors packed into the Dallas Convention Center. Imagine the screaming teenagers and the pounding music. Imagine four different stages of cheering and dancing for two straight days.
If you’re wondering, yes, my head still hurts from covering the competition, but the upside was getting to shoot pure action.
Sometimes I miss my newspaper days when I shot lots of football, sports, and other types of news events. At first you might not think that photographing football or cheerleading has anything to do with wedding photography and wedding photographers, but really, the same skills apply.
Bill and I are very experienced at photographing the fleeting expressions, the telling details, the candid moments, and the pure pageantry of any activity, whether it be at a sporting event or at a wedding.
