Kanab, Utah Vacation with Mom and My Dog, Tater
Hi everyone, Sherri here.
My mom, Ruth, called me some months ago and wanted to know if I wanted to go with her to Kanab, Utah and hike The Wave. I said of course I would go. Any time my 70-year-old mom wants to do something I am always game.
So we hop in the car and drove the distance of three gas stations fill ups, two gut bombs of bad food, and five doggy walks. After getting lost, we arrived at the ranger station to fill out the paper work and put our names on the list to hike The Wave. The powers that be (whoever they are) only allow 10 people to make the 5.5 mile hike per day through a lottery system.
The first morning we were there, 64 people were waiting to see if they would be one of the magic hikers. The second morning only 36 people showed up for the drawing. Our number was not drawn either day, but we did enjoy several other hikes, one being Slot Canyon. My dog, Tater, and my mom were the stars of most of my photos.

Photos of the Canyon Concert Ballet Company in Fort Collins
We are patrons of the Canyon Concert Ballet Company in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Last week we provided the portraits of their dancers and staff for website and program use. We also took action photos of company member Allison Runyan for an upcoming poster. I enjoy ballet but Bill absolutely LOVES it. He spent 20 years shooting the dance movements in all kinds of sports and really “feels” the art of dance. He also photographs the rehearsals of the Canyon Concert Ballet Company performances whenever his schedule permits.

“She Said ‘Yes’” Bridal Show
Yesterday, Bill & I participated in the “She Said Yes” bridal show at the Fort Collins Marriott. It was a good show for us as we met lots of really nice brides and grooms. The women at Simply Elegant Events and Mountain Avenue Bridal hosted a great event.
They also produced a runway style fashion show modeling upcoming trends in wedding gowns that Bill enjoys photographing. Carol from Maximum Talent in Denver brought some fantastic runway models.

Myra & Gabriel at Our Lady of Loreto Church and the Hyatt Regency at The Denver Tech Center
We got to know Myra and Gabriel last spring when I shot their engagement photos. Their ceremony was at the magnificent Our Lady of Lareto Catholic Church in Parker, Colorado. Bill and I were enthralled with the wooden beams and natural light inside the sanctuary.
The wedding reception was at the Hyatt Regency at The Denver Tech Center. Myra and Gabriel had scheduled a cocktail hour for their guests in and we used most of that time to make additional portraits in the hotel lobby and staircases. The Hyatt staff presented a fabulous meal in their main ballroom and when we left around 10:00pm the party was still going strong.
